I was hired on to Alooki initially as a developer as I was seeking new engineering work opportunities. The work would end up shifting to design and integration as specialized hardware was needed to interface between our sensors and existing industrial machinery. Since then, my primary job has been in the design of and integration of our sensors and clients existing hardware. From conceptualization to commissioning, I have been the architect behind how our sensor technologies interface with clients. Inbetween these projects I am one of the System Administrators overseeing the work of other developers working on full-stack development.
Inpixon
Hardware Engineer, Sept, 2019 - Sept, 2022
Responsibilities
- Specialized in creating new design compatibility with injection molding.
- Designed for IPXX (dust and waterproof) in accordance with company requirements.
- Designed thermal mitigation to keep devices from overheating.
- Provided code cleaning for product deployment in accordance with company requirements.
I was hired on as a placement in my final coop year and stayed with the company post graduation as one of their 2 Hardware engineers for the Puck and IPX4000 series of sensors. My area of specialization in the company became thermal management as there was serious overheat concerns that remained in the designs inherited from our marketing department. With no formal P.ENG above me to assist in getting my own P.ENG I left the company during a transitionary period when the company was moving work overseas.
NL Hydro
Coop Engineer, June, 2018 - May, 2019

I had 2 postings with NL Hydro, both in the Project Execution and Technical Services department. My main job was reporting to 3-5 managers for engineering paperwork and general project management. Most often this would be planning and commissioning document, reviewing proposals, and processing OSR reports on work done in the field
